Q. What is Royalty Free Music?

Q. Can I preview the complete track in my project?
A.Yes you can. Simply send us a request for the tracks and we'll email you straight back with a download link for your tracks. Our previews are exactly the same high quality as purchased MP3 versions (purchased tracks also include CD quality WAVs) and include no audio watermark.. You must be a registered user to obtain previews.

Q. What format is your Royalty free music music in?
A. At present all of our royalty free music is available for instant download, although not available in CD format. The files themselves are crystal clear quality MP3 (192kpbs) for smaller file size and Cd quality 44.1khz WAV files.

Q. Can I use your Production music on my website?
A. Yes. But you can't sell or share the music (only your production that includes it) and the music must be in a streamed format..

Q. Do I have to combine a voiceover or something with your music?
A. No, but the music must be in a streamed format to avoid users downloading our royalty free music (which you have paid for!)

Q. Do I need a cue sheet?
A. You will only need to submit a cue sheet if our music is to be broadcast (or sometimes for "in store" music). If in doubt have a look here or contact us.

Q. Can I use your Production music in my podcast?
A. Absolutely.

Q. Can I edit or convert SMARTass-royalty-free-music files?
A. Yes you can. We have provided many edits where possible, for purchase at a reduced cost but you can edit or convert the files yourself. We have provided a list of good editing and conversion tools in our TUTORIALS section.

Q. When will I have access to the music I purchase?
A. As soon as you make your purchase, you will be taken back to the "My Account" area of the site where you will be able to download your music files. You don't even need to wait for an email. Also, you can access the files at any time in your 'My Account' area.

Q. Can I preview your Royalty Free Music in my production, without purchase?
A. Yes you can. Just set up an account (completely free) and email us with a request for the particular track and we'll email the MP3 version to you for a free preview in you production.

Q. What's your returns policy?
A. If you're not 100% satisfied with your purchase simply contact support and we'll refund your money in total. You will need to sign a form saying that you won't use the music in any production and your money will be refunded upon receipt of this. However if you are not sure that our track will suit your production just contact us and we will email you the complete MP3 version for you to try in your production before you purchase. You must have an account with us in order to do this.

Q. I'm a composer, can I submit my music?
A. Yes you can, although we're VERY picky about what gets included.
